Don’t worry — that is completely normal.

A family session is not about forcing everyone to sit still and smile at the camera. I’ll guide you when needed, but I also want your children to be themselves.

Sometimes the best pictures happen between the “official” pictures: a laugh, a cuddle, a silly face, or a moment when everyone forgets the camera is there.

So relax and enjoy your family. I’ll worry about the pictures.

The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and still look like yourselves.

I usually recommend coordinating colours rather than dressing everyone identically. Neutral tones, earthy colours, soft pastels, denim and simple textures photograph beautifully.

Try to avoid very large logos, busy patterns or colours that compete for attention.

Once you book, I’m also happy to help you choose outfits that work well together.

You can choose between an indoor or outdoor session.

Indoor sessions can take place at my studio in Hampton Vale, Peterborough, or in the comfort of your own home within approximately 15 miles of PE7.

For outdoor sessions, Hampton Lake and Nene Park are excellent options.

If you have another location that means something special to your family, let me know. We can usually make it work, although travel or accommodation charges may apply for locations further away.

You’ve gotta love British weather. 😄

If we have planned an outdoor session and the weather makes it impractical, we can discuss changing the time, moving indoors, or rescheduling.

On the other hand, if you’re up for a challenge, pictures in the rain can look amazing!

Of course.

Grandparents, adult children and extended family members can make the session even more meaningful. If you are planning a larger family group, please tell me when you enquire. That allows me to organise things better.

And remember: pictures with grandparents often become some of the most valuable family pictures we ever own.

Can we bring our dog or another pet?

Absolutely — pets are family too.

Just let me know beforehand, especially if we are using the studio or another indoor location.

For outdoor sessions, bringing your dog can create wonderfully natural family pictures.

Start by contacting me to check availability and tell me a little about your family and the type of session you would like.

Once we agree on the date, location and package, your session will be secured.

After the photoshoot, you’ll receive a link to a private online gallery containing previews of your pictures. You can then select the images included in your package and purchase additional favourites if you wish.

Your selected pictures will then be professionally retouched and delivered through a password-protected online gallery in high resolution.
